5 Day Intensive Patina Workshop and Seminar
RISD Furniture Design Department 2022
Working with the Senior Thesis Students developing organic and natural finishes for steel, bronze, stainless, aluminum and copper.
Students participated in making patina image transfers using natural materials including plants, fermented vegetables, typical household cooking and cleaning solutions, as well as fertilizers. The week-long workshop included standard steel and stainless blackening, steel and bronze heat tempering, and copper plating, rust, polishing and sealing treatments for metals.
